There is controversy between the committee that is fighting against the construction of the Thyrrhenian Link and the mayor of Quartu, Graziano Milia.

In a video published on his Telegram channel, the mayor of Sardinia's third largest city, in whose territory - in Terra Mala - Terna's gigantic submarine cable will land which will connect the island to Sicily, attacks: «In the first phase it will bring energy to Sardinia , we are the biggest polluters in the Mediterranean because we produce it with coal and the cable is used for import, contrary to what is being said around: anti-vax rumors are going around on the Tyrrhenian link" , attacks Milia, who however reiterates his opposition to the consumption of soil and landscape with wind turbines, "instead its passage will not cause any impact on our territory". On the contrary, explains Milia, "of what will happen in Selargius, where I don't understand why agricultural land and not an industrial area were chosen for the construction of the power plant."

Those who fight against the exchange center in the countryside of Selargius, where the cable emerging from the sea will arrive, think differently and maintain - data in hand - that the cable will instead be used to export the energy produced by the forest of wind farms that it seems it will invade Sardinia.

«From a capable and present mayor like Milia, such a lack of information is not acceptable», is the committee's debut, «an absolute lack of knowledge of the project, because it says that the cable is used to bring energy from Sicily to Sardinia. Exactly the opposite", is the explanation.

The requests for the installation of wind farms in Sardinia, is the thesis of the No Tyrrhenian Link, «concern a disproportionate amount of Gigawatts for the Sardinian needs, whose energy produced will necessarily have to be exported with marine cables, including the Tyrrhenian Link, of which the population of Terra Mala knew nothing. The cable that enters Terra Mala and, passing through the municipalities of Quartucciu and Settimo, will arrive at the Selargius station, will take the energy produced by the blades installed in Sardinia", is the conclusion.
