Mayors of Oristano protest the local health authority (ASL): "There's a shortage of doctors, leaving 1,500 patients without care."

First, two doctors worked for nine hours a week. Then one for just five hours, and now nothing: closed doors. The healthcare situation in Solarussa is critical. Since Dr. Francesca Sanna went on maternity leave, her 1,500 patients living in Solarussa, Siamaggiore, and Zerfaliu have found themselves living a nightmare .
The mayors of the three municipalities have therefore decided to send a joint statement to the Oristano Local Health Authority (ASL) to urgently request the activation of an Ascot. Yet another request, in short, a new cry for help.
"The service is inadequate for the needs of the three municipalities," reads the note sent to the health authority this morning. "The idea of opening the Ascot service immediately was deemed a partial and limited solution, given that the nine-hour weekly opening hours, spread over two days, have never allowed for the queues to clear."
Then, the three mayors Tendas, Chelo, and Dessì recall, "one of the two doctors, Dr. Lutzu, resigned, and now we find out that Dr. Ganassi will not be present this week either. The result is that Ascot will be closed during the week." Then comes the question: "What solution does the Local Health Authority intend to implement to guarantee a minimum level of functionality and allow the 1,500 residents of the three municipalities to access the healthcare service?"
A few days ago, the Local Health Authority announced it was working to find a doctor. In recent days, to try to calm things down, given the miles-long queue, the Carabinieri even intervened in Solarussa. Mayor Mario Tendas also asked for the cooperation of the Barracelli residents.
