A dolphin carcass was found on Wednesday morning on the beach of Is Solinas, in the municipality of Masainas.

The cetacean was spotted by some local citizens who were taking a walk.

The Environmental Surveillance Forestry Corps immediately called 1515, which promptly sent a patrol to the site.
The agents of the Blon unit (Naval Operational Logistics Base) of Sant'Antioco were unable to do anything other than ascertain his death and carry out biometric measurements.

It appears to be a two and a half meter long adulton bottlenose dolphin, which could have died in the sea and then been transported by the currents to the Sulcis beach, given that no injuries that could have caused its death were detected.

The agents reported to the Nora cetacean recovery center and informed the local health authority for the recovery and disposal operations of the carcass.
