The 55-year-old from Sestu who hit two women crossing via Quirra on 4 November in Cagliari was arrested by the carabinieri for manslaughter, at the court's order. Mother and daughter were injured and the 84-year-old elderly woman died .

The man was driving a van and had tested positive for the alcohol test.

The military carried out the arrest order under house arrest in their own home.
