After two years of investigations and controversy, the Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office has closed the investigation into the tragic death of Giuseppe Mannoni .

Prosecutor Noemi Mancini has signed the notice of conclusion of the investigation addressed to Arthur Shendrik, a young Berlin resident, accused of manslaughter . The indictment contains the judicial reconstruction of the events that occurred at dawn on August 26, 2024 , in a parking lot in Baia Sardinia .

Giuseppe Mannoni, 28, from Thiesi, allegedly died while trying to separate two people who were arguing. This is a summary of the events described based on documents provided by the judicial police. Mannoni spent the evening at a nightclub, and after leaving a parking lot, he witnessed an argument between Shendrik and a person the prosecutors described as a "friend" of the victim. The young man placed himself between the two arguing people. Mannoni was punched several times in the chest, which, according to the prosecutor, was delivered by Shendrik . He fell backward and hit his head violently. He was taken to the hospital in Olbia, where he "asked to be discharged." He died in Nuoro during a desperate surgical procedure due to "cerebral shock due to cerebral edema from severe cranial trauma."

The German man's defense attorney, criminal lawyer Luca Montella, declined to comment on the investigation. The victim's family is being represented by lawyers Nicola Satta and Sergio Milia.

The two lawyers had expressed doubts about the reconstruction of the case, which held a single person responsible for the murder. Several doctors were originally also under investigation, and the case was dismissed.
