A Romanian woman , who has lived in Nuraminis for many years, was left in serious condition by a man who allegedly attacked her for trivial reasons, causing injuries to her spleen, ribs, and a head injury that required hospitalization.

The attack, reported to the Carabinieri, occurred on Sunday evening . The woman allegedly got into a violent altercation with a person she knew near her home on the central Via Nazionale. The attacker, though it's not yet clear whether more than one person attacked the caregiver, then allegedly attacked her with punches and kicks, knocking her to the ground. Her son intervened to defend her, but he was powerless to do much and ended up being beaten himself.

The Carabinieri are investigating the incident.
