The man who damaged the windows of the Scoglio Lungo restaurant on the Porto Torres coast, setting fire to several dumpsters and a private home, on the night between July 30th and 31st, has been arrested.

The Carabinieri of the local Radiomobile company arrested him in flagrante delicto on charges of arson, damage and possession with intent to sell narcotics.

The man is Andrea Piga, 37. Before attacking the restaurant, the man had set fire to several dumpsters near the gas station on Viale della Libertà, where firefighters responded to extinguish the flames. The officers also responded to Via Manzoni, where he started another blaze, targeting the terrace of a pensioner's home, completely destroying a room containing the boiler and electrical panel. The woman, attempting to leave the unlit apartment, fell to the floor, sustaining minor injuries.

The investigation into the perpetrator led the police to the restaurant on Lungomare Balai, where the criminal had smashed a glass window in one of the entrance doors, damaging furnishings and objects inside. Despite his attempt to flee by hiding among the coastal rocks, the Carabinieri tracked him down and arrested him. A search found him in possession of two lighters. Further investigations of the residence revealed a marijuana plant approximately 90 centimeters tall and a precision scale, all of which were seized.
