This is the result of the tests he underwent this morning at a private laboratory in Cagliari, following news of a positive pre-test for drugs circulating in recent hours . The Cagliari striker underwent the tests following his car accident in Milan on Saturday night.
Maldini will be back with the group this afternoon when training resumes at the Crai Sport Center in Assemini , ahead of Cagliari's upcoming matches. Consequently, he will also be eligible to play on Saturday at 3:00 PM in the away match against Udinese.
Following the accident, Maldini tested positive for alcohol in his blood, which revealed a blood alcohol level almost double the legal limit: the local police test recorded values of 0.91 mg/l in the first test and 0.89 mg/l in the second. His license was revoked .
