Domusnovas is also in the list of cities involved in the maxi national operation of the State Police against online child pornography. In the municipality of Southern Sardinia, a forty-one-year-old ended up in handcuffs, who is now under house arrest. Among the suspects, at liberty, there is also a person in the Nuoro area and one in the Oristano area, where searches were carried out with the acquisition of elements useful to the investigation

The blitz led to 34 arrests throughout Italy for possession of large amounts of child pornography. More than 500 operators were involved in 115 home and computer searches. During the inspection of computers and computer devices, tens of thousands of illegal files were found.

The operation, coordinated by the Catania District Attorney's Office and conducted by the Catania Cyber Security Operations Center, saw the collaboration of the National Center for the Countering of Online Child Pornography (CNCPO) of the Postal Police Service.

The investigations, which focused on a well-known instant messaging platform, allowed the Postal Police specialists to identify several groups that exchanged child pornography material online. Identifying the users required intense analysis and technical investigation, which allowed them to trace their identities. Most of the suspects used sophisticated encryption and cloud storage systems to hide the digital material, significantly complicating its identification.

Those arrested, all male, are aged between 21 and 59 and reside in the provinces of Catania, Syracuse, Agrigento, Naples, Pescara, Foggia, Rome, Latina, Milan, Brescia, Florence, Reggio Calabria, Cosenza, Pordenone, Lecce, Viterbo, Avellino, Barletta-Andria-Trani, Frosinone, Varese, Vicenza and Cagliari.
