The Sardinian Episcopal Conference has decided to reconfirm Tore Acca, 63 years old, originally from Macomer, president of Oftal Sardinia, the voluntary association that brings together disabled and sick people in general from the whole island for pilgrimages to Lourdes, but also for other important events in favor of those who live in suffering.
This was announced by the national president of the association, Monsignor Paolo Angelino, and the bishop of Ozieri, Monsignor Corrado Melis, responsible for lay aggregations in Sardinia.
Tore Acca, who lives in Olbia, has been at the helm of Oftal Sardegna for several years now. He distinguished himself above all for having created a center in the city for the reception of disabled people, Villa Chiara, which hosts many people.
Oftal Sardinia, on the other hand, operates throughout the regional territory, organizing periodic meetings for the sick and disabled, such as New Year's Eve, carnival and summer holidays. Hundreds of volunteers, ladies and stretcher bearers, from all parts of the island join Oftal.
