"Carrasegare in Macumere": traditional masks and the valorisation of the island's history and local traditions represented in a large event. February 3rd therefore becomes a day of great celebration, where eleven groups with around 300 participants will parade through the streets of the centre, representing the carnival traditions of Sardinia and the Peninsula.

It is the tenth edition of the traditional mask parade, an event organized by the Esedra cooperative and the Pro Loco, with the patronage of the Municipality and with the collaboration of groups of traders and local businesses, which represents a combination of the traditions of Sardinia with those of overseas.

The protagonists of the parade will be the local association, with the ancient mask Donna Zenobia, the Boes and the Merdules of Ottana, S'Urtzu Prestitu of Sorgono, the Mustayonis and S'Okru Foresu of Sestu, Sos Tintinnatos of Siniscola, Su Pastori and su Boinarxiu of Teulada, S'Ainu Orriadore of Scano Montiferro, S'accabadora Pianalzesa of Planargia, then the overseas masked groups, with the Krampus of Naturno (Trentino Alto Adige) and for the first time the Cucibocca group of Montescaglioso (Basilicata ).

The parade will start from the heart of the historic center (Piazza Santa Croce), at 4.30pm. The masked groups will travel along Via Eleonora d'Arborea, Corso Umberto, to end in the central Piazza Caduti sul Lavoro, where a gigantic zippolata will be set up. Then the final party with dancing in the square, organized by the Fantasias de Ballos group. Among the new features are the guided tours organized by the Esedra cooperative, for visits to the monuments and beauties of the area, lunch and dinner in the restaurants that have joined the initiative, with the tasting of typical dishes of the carnival tradition. An event that will therefore have important economic implications, as well as enhancing the town and the territory, with its history and its traditions.
