The town is mourning the passing of the historic photographer Pietro Del Rio . He was the last of a generation of a family of photographers who, in the last century, worked not only in Macomer, but also throughout the territory, even in Barbagia. Pietro Del Rio, an important and historic name, always left his unmistakable signature in his photographic services.
He had abandoned his activity several years ago , closing, for health reasons, the historic studio on the corner of Corso Umberto and Via Sardegna. He had been suffering for years and the day before yesterday, after a long illness, he passed away in his house-museum in Via Del Vascello.
He was 82 years old. Pietro Del Rio, in addition to taking important shots at weddings and various public events, both sporting and cultural, was also the official photographer of the "Bechi Luserna" barracks, immortalizing thousands of recruits and their families on the occasion of the Oath, as well as the various soldiers, officers, non-commissioned officers and their families, who have taken turns over the last 65 years.
