The Trenino Verde does not restart even on August 15th. Work is still underway on the section damaged last May, with a pirate truck that damaged the iron bridge over the state road 129 bis, at the Macomer exit.

Arst announces that preparatory work is being done to have the train running from the end of August. Obviously, the reservations, which were many, have been cancelled, completely compromising the summer season, after the cancellation of the months of May, June, July and now also August .

"There were many reservations but, obviously, we had to cancel them - says with bitterness Rossana Muroni, president of the Esedra cooperative, which manages the tourist service on the Macomer and Bosa line - just as we had to cancel reservations for the entire summer. All we can do is hope for a recovery in September".

There was hope for a green light from Arst, but it did not arrive. "The forced stop translates into damage for the entire territory - says the president of the Union of Municipalities of Marghine, Franco Scanu - in fact, at this point I believe that the restart of the old train can happen, almost with certainty, between September 21 and 22, during the Romanesque days, to take pilgrims to the ancient church of Nostra Signora di Corte, in Sindia. We hope, however, that the trips can resume as soon as possible".

The mayor of Macomer, Riccardo Uda, adds: «Certainly the situation from an economic point of view damages the territory. On the other hand, however, we cannot force our hand. It is a technical problem, on a structure where a train with passengers passes. We can only hope that the problem will be resolved as soon as possible». Rossana Muroni: «We hope that the emergencies are over. For Ferragosto, however, we will open the archaeological sites of Macomer to tourists. We cannot do more».
