With the presence of the students of the lower secondary school, the tenth edition of the "Festival of Legality, count and walk, legality belongs to your smile" opened yesterday, organized by the Cultural Services Center, in collaboration with the Municipality.

An event that in recent years has guided thousands of students, from different countries and schools, on paths of legality, awareness and commitment.

The meeting was opened by the mayor, Riccardo Uda and the councilor for culture, Fabiana Cugusi. In the chair were the representatives of the Macomer Police station, with the director, Commissioner Federico Farris, who met with the adolescent students, to draw attention to how social media are potentially dangerous tools of wrong dynamics that can turn into crime.

The police chief recalled the story of Carolina Picchio, from Novara, who at 14 years old was the victim of cyberbullying, forcing her to end it all by throwing herself from the window of her home.

"Words hurt more than blows," is the message left by that unfortunate girl. Federico Farris explained well what the boundary is between a game, a joke and a crime, telling them with absolute simplicity the consequences of wrong actions, told through a video, on an event that occurred in 2013. Turning to the kids he then said: "Did this video touch you? What is happening is not a game, but a crime. The joke is not to humiliate people and there is nothing to laugh about. These are dangerous facts."

The morning continued with a show lesson, with "I'll tell you about the mafias", with Giacomo Rossetto, who addressed the kids so that they are not passive spectators but protectors of legality in the future. The demonstrations continued in the afternoon and will end tomorrow.
