Work begins on the railway network between Macomer and Ozieri Chilivani .

The intervention is scheduled from 8 January to 5 May , with the aim of installing a new system for supervising and controlling the spacing of trains , the same one adopted on the high-speed lines, which allows an improvement in the regularity of circulation as well as a savings on management and maintenance costs compared to traditional signaling systems.

Also planned is the rehabilitation of the tracks between Macomer and Bonorva , the renewal of switches, the maintenance of bridges, small bridges and manholes, interventions on the Campeda – Bonorva tunnel, as well as preparatory activities for speeding up the route.

To allow the works to be carried out , train circulation will be suspended on the Macomer – Chilivani section . On interrupted lines the service will be carried out by bus .

The Macomer stations will remain active, for the arrival and departure of trains towards Cagliari, and the Chilivani station, for connections with Porto Torres – Sassari – Olbia – Golfo Aranci.

The interruption will leave the offer to the south of Macomer unchanged : trains coming from Cagliari circulate regularly and stop in the capital of Marghine, from there travelers who intend to continue their journey towards the north of the island will be able to do so using the service buses at their disposal.

In detail: trains coming from Cagliari stop in Macomer and travelers continue by bus towards Sassari, Olbia, Porto Torres Marittima, Golfo Aranci and vice versa. The trains on the Sassari-Porto Torres Marittima, Olbia-Golfo Aranci and Olbia-Sassari lines and vice versa also remain confirmed and unchanged.
