A serious accident occurred this morning at a waste treatment plant in Macchiareddu: a 24-year-old worker carrying out maintenance work fell from the roof of the plant, from a height of approximately ten meters, for reasons yet to be determined.

The 118 emergency medical personnel responded to the scene—the company has not yet been named—and, after assessing the accident, arranged for the patient to be transferred by air ambulance to the Brotzu emergency room.

Fortunately, despite the serious injuries sustained in the crash, the twenty-four-year-old's life is not in danger: he underwent delicate surgery.

The technical surveys and investigations necessary to reconstruct the dynamics are being conducted by the Carabinieri of the Assemini station, working with the Spresal of the Cagliari ASL.
