Luna Rossa flies over the sea of Cagliari . Twenty-five weeks ago the launch of the Leq12 prototype. Just as many are missing from the first ACWS regatta in Vilanova. Manager Gilberto Nobili told the team's official channel what the next steps towards the America's Cup will be, which include a temporary move of the base from Sardinia to Barcelona.

Meanwhile there is once again the celebration of the characteristics of the Golfo degli Angeli: «Between actual days of training at sea and tow trials, we have completed around 50 days. Of these, over forty of sailing navigation», explains Nobili, who adds: «We are lucky: in Cagliari there is a very variable weather that includes all conditions. We mainly sailed with mistral winds in the first part of the day and with thermal breezes after lunch, but there were more varied situations, with less common winds. We have to be ready for anything but, if possible, we prefer to go out in weather conditions that are more similar to those we expect for the end of summer in Barcelona».

The disputed Ac40 should be delivered shortly: «From July to October», Nobili points out, «it will only be able to sail in Barcelona, therefore, after having assembled and tested it here in Cagliari, we will send it to Spain to be able to let the boys sail in the waters of the Cup".

And here is the announcement of the transfer: «We are not in too much of a hurry, for now the main activities will remain here, in Cagliari, but the base will be ready for the summer».

Numerous videos of the evolutions of Luna Rossa in the Gulf of Cagliari have been published online on the official channels: in one, published on March 26, the boat sails on the surface of the water and risks capsizing. It happens when you try to push performance beyond the limits.
