Seventy kilos of sea urchins, caught in violation of the rules and without traceability.
This is what the agents of the Bitti Traffic Police detachment found and seized aboard a car subjected to a routine check along State Road 131 DCN in the Lula area .
On board the car, in addition to the driver and two passengers, there were three baskets full of fish which made the policemen suspicious. A subsequent check by the Coast Guard of La Caletta di Siniscola made it possible to ascertain that the sea urchins had been caught irregularly.
Then measures were taken: a fine of 1,500 euros.
Not only. The car in question was found to be without inspection, so the driver received another fine.
As for the sea urchins, the Coast Guard has taken steps to "return" them to the sea.
