Sardinia's local health authority (ASL) is changing again.
The Regional Council, upon the recommendation of the president and interim health councilor, Alessandra Todde, has appointed the general directors of Sassari and Medio Campidano.
Antonio Lorenzo Spano, who had only started working in Medio Campidano in January, has been appointed to ASL 1 (Sassari). He fills the position vacated by Flavio Sensi , who, after winning an appeal, opted to lead Multiss. The remaining position at ASL 6 will be filled by Italian-American Joseph Polimeni, who describes himself on LinkedIn as an "expert in healthcare management, epidemiologist, risk manager, specialist in forensic and insurance medicine, and specialist in hygiene and preventive medicine."
The appointments, the Board of Directors states, have a duration of three years.
