Life-saving flight from Sardinia for a 9-year-old boy with severe respiratory failure

Flight saves life during the night from Sardinia to the Peninsula for a 9-year-old boy suffering from severe respiratory failure.

The little patient, together with his mother and the medical team, was embarked on an aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Air Force which took off from Ciampino airport at 11pm last night for Cagliari . Then the restart, the arrival in Bologna took place around 1.40, finally the transfer to the University Hospital of Padua to allow the child to receive the necessary therapies.

Hundreds of flight hours are carried out every year for this type of intervention by the aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare and the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa.
