The breakthrough, announced for days, came early yesterday afternoon, when Carabinieri officers from the Cagliari Investigative Unit—with a pre-trial detention order signed by Judge Claudia Sechi—went to their homes to pick up brothers Gianmarco and Filippo Tunis, aged 23 and 19, and Daniel Campus, a 22-year-old from Quartu. All three are charged with complicity in robbery and the murder of 23-year-old Leonardo Mocci from Villacidro , killed with a gunshot to the heart on the night of April 22nd in Piazza Settimio Severo in Monserrato.

The victim and a friend had been lured into a trap : the fake sale of three kilos of hashish , which in reality turned out to be a bloody robbery. The Villacidro bricklayer was shot dead while trying to help his friend, who had been attacked and beaten, and robbed of the €10,000 he had received to complete the deal and purchase the drugs.

From reading the precautionary order, it seems that investigators have now concluded that the 23-year-old bricklayer from Villacidro was also interested in purchasing the drug, which later turned into a trap.
