Clinical picture improving for the 47-year-old woman, hospitalized for ten days in the intensive care unit of the San Pietro clinics in Sassari. The patient, originally from Mores but residing in Cheremule, responds positively to the treatment of the doctors who are monitoring the situation, although they still keep the prognosis confidential.

The case of legionella had alarmed the community of Cheremule. The woman had been experiencing symptoms of high fever and difficulty breathing in recent days. The hospitalization took place on Sunday 20 August. The surveys carried out by the technicians of the Hygiene and Public Health Service of Sassari, following an inspection of the places frequented by the woman, aimed at identifying the causes of legionella, were sent to the Cagliari Asl laboratories for the due microbiological analyzes necessary to detect the concentration of the bacterium. Only in the next few days will the results of the tests be known.

Legionella thrives in air conditioning systems and water pipes, but the contagion is linked to a specific place.
