La Maddalena, four options for the ferry docks

There is a fourth site, within the context of the Master Plan of the Port, which has been identified for a possible relocation of the commercial port (and of the ferries); this is the Lungomare Mirabello, in the part facing the straight line of the former Military Hospital.

A meeting between the municipal administration and the planners of the Plan was recently held in Cagliari, at the Department of Town Planning and Local Authorities. There are four " technical solutions and proposals " , affirmed yesterday, during the work of the City Council, the delegate for Ports, Valerio Pisano, present in the capital together with the mayor, Fabio Lai: the site to the East of the former Arsenal, that of Piazza Command, the one to the west, in the Padule locality, and this new one, precisely, of the Lungomare Mirabello.

« The proposals that I have seen are all worthy of further study – commented the minority councilor, Giovanni Manconi – I think the definitive choice should be shared and I hope that this will be done, because these choices are projected over the next hundred years , and will condition the development of future generations " . Alberto Mureddu , from the minority, recalled that «in any case, the political direction, in the end, is the one that is sovereign in the face of multiple technical options » .

Annalisa Gulino , her colleague in the same minority group, shares the same opinion: « We saw the solutions proposed in the committee, they are still in their embryonic stage; we will see how these hypotheses will take shape ; what is certain is that the political direction must absolutely be given; in fact, the good of our community depends on it".

Even for the former mayor, Rosanna Giudice , the topic will have to be studied in depth, remembering that « the objective is to leave free everything that is the front , the current port, or what should become the "living room of Cala mess tin”; and on this I believe that there is a common denominator between all of us, including the community » .

There is a political responsibility of this administration "to decide what will be the solution", replied the delegate Valerio Pisano , "which we count on being able to share with everyone, the fact remaining that the choice will then be our responsibility".
