La Maddalena, fire in an apartment: evacuated

A fire broke out overnight in La Maddalena, in a ground-floor apartment of a building on Via Benedetto Cellini. The alarm was raised around 2:30 a.m., when the local fire department responded to the scene.

The flames affected the house for reasons still being investigated.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of rescuers, the fire was contained and prevented from spreading to the upper floors of the building, which did not require evacuation of the occupants.

No injuries were reported. Carabinieri and emergency personnel also responded to the scene of the fire to investigate and provide assistance.
