La Maddalena, a stone wall collapses: part of Largo Salvatore Quasimodo closed

Firefighters responded today to the collapse of a stone wall in Largo Salvatore Quasimodo.

The incident occurred following persistent rains that have been affecting the area for days and have compromised the stability of the structure.

For safety reasons, it was necessary to close Via Zampiano and a portion of the square in Largo Salvatore Quasimodo to traffic , in order to allow operations to secure the area and prevent further risks to pedestrians and vehicles.

Local police officers, charged with managing traffic and cordoning off the affected area, also intervened on site , along with workers from the municipal technical department, who are carrying out the necessary checks to assess the extent of the damage and plan the restoration work.
