Three members of the minority left the room, one was absent and another voted in favor. And so it was that in La Maddalena the majority of the mayor Fabio Lai (only the councilor Gianvincenzo Belli was absent, traveling to Latvia for the tourism fair) approved the integration to the act of address aimed at the adoption of the Master Plan Port (PRP). Port area which was previously considered to be between Cala Balbiano and Punta Chiara but which is now extended, starting from Nido d'Aquila up to the Porto Arsenale of Moneta, passing through the Lungomare Mirabello (former Military Hospital).

The point of discussion, in addition to that relating to the lack of a quorum which did not allow the competent commission to take place (step foreseen by the municipal regulation), was the one on the location of the commercial port in particular with reference to the docking of the ferries connecting with Palau. The old Water Front project, conceived at the time of the first Comiti administration, carried forward during the second mandate and subsequently in the five-year term of Mayor Montella, involves moving the ferry dock from the current site to Piazza Comando-Punta Chiara.

The Lai Administration, stated the mayor himself, excludes the possibility of its construction in Padule (for traffic reasons) as well as in Moneta in the Porto Arsenale (to be dedicated to tourist and shipbuilding ports), but instead sees the possibility of a double location of the commercial port, that of Piazza Comando-Punta Chiara precisely (already identified in the Water Front project) but also that of the straight line of the former Military Hospital, where new docks can be built (gaining about fifty meters above the sea), which could accommodate ferries parked overnight or in bunkers, small and medium cruise ships or even, in the future, ferry traffic itself.

A meeting on the topic between the municipal administration and the Region is scheduled for February 7th in Cagliari.
