An unprecedented postwar initiative: the Municipality of La Maddalena , together with the parish, is organizing a major concert in honor of the sworn-in servicemen and their families. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 23rd, in the parish church, where the San Domenico Savio town band will perform . This event highlights the strong civil, religious, and institutional ties between the La Maddalena community and the Navy.

At the end of the concert, the same band will play the traditional "retreat," accompanying soldiers and their families to the barracks entrance gate. There, the following day, Friday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m., in the Avegno square of the Non-Commissioned Officers' School, 241 students (over a third of them women) of the 12th Initial Service Volunteers (VFI) will swear allegiance to the Republic. The Sassari Brigade Band will perform the ceremony. The ceremony, according to a press release, "represents the culmination of an intense eight-week basic training program. After the swearing-in, the students will continue with specific training modules, which will focus on the skills required for their various ranks."

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to bring over 1,000 people to La Maddalena, including parents, brothers, sisters, boyfriends, girlfriends, and various relatives, to witness the first step, the beginning of their young relatives' military careers.
