He was caught at the port of Palau with a package containing 25 grams of cocaine : the 38-year-old man originally from the area was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Tempio Pausania Public Prosecutor's Office.

The discovery was made by the Finance Police during routine checks on vehicles and passengers arriving and departing for La Maddalena, which intensified significantly over the weekend. The Green Berets' attention was drawn to two Italian nationals spotted near the boarding gates. Their nervous behavior, combined with their evasive answers regarding the reason for their trip and the interest shown by the drug-sniffing dogs, Dante and Joy , prompted a more thorough search with the assistance of the Olbia Group's canine units. The search then led to the discovery, hidden by the 38-year-old, of the package containing approximately 25 grams of cocaine.

The substance, if placed on the market, would have generated profits estimated at over 2,000 euros.
