Ittiri: Hundreds of people gather in the square to say no to wind energy development.

Hundreds of people from all over Sardinia gathered this morning in Ittiri to demonstrate against the Alas 1 wind farm project, planned between Ittiri and Villanova Monteleone.

From the procession to the chants, up to the speeches by the representatives of the committees: Alghero Committee New Resistance for the Sardinian Land, Gallura Coordination for the Defense of Sardinia, Comitadu pro sa Nurra.

Representatives have called on citizens and associations to raise their voices against a project that, they fear, will pave the way for further industrial development in an area considered to be of extraordinary natural value.
