«In the winter months, Sardinian passengers will be able to count on greater territorial continuity thanks to an increase in flights planned to and from Cagliari. From November to March on the Cagliari-Milan Linate route the company has foreseen an increase of 3 additional daily flights compared to that foreseen by the decree imposing public service obligations, going from 4 to 7 flights. At the same time, 8 daily flights were operated on the Cagliari-Rome Fiumicino route for the entire month of October and 7 are planned for the entire month of November (as required by the decree), maintaining the eighth frequency for the Bridge of the Saints, from 29 October to 5 November".

This is Ita's response after the open letter from the Sardinian writer Matteo Porru, addressed to Antonino Turicchi, president of the company. The letter in which the writer complained about flight delays and less availability of connections for the winter season.

«During the continuation of the winter season, for the months of December, January and March the company will operate 7 daily flights (1 more than the Decree). In February, however, 8 will be planned (as foreseen by the decree). The company's current commitment follows the effort already implemented during the summer period, during which, taking into account the dimensioning of the offer contained in the Ministerial Decree, it significantly increased the capacity offered on flights in territorial continuity to/from Sardinia, for respond to the marked increase in demand recorded on these connections".

Ita Airways underlines that it defined, during the tender, its offer in terms of capacity on the basis of the frequencies envisaged by the Decree, determined according to an estimate of demand which also took into account the emergency situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.
