This time, the one protesting the situation at the Isili hospital is the chaplain who comforts the patients every day and has always fought to protect the health facility's functioning.

Father Antonello Demurtas's words were very clear and direct: "For some time now," the priest said, "the medical department has been experiencing an increasingly serious emergency situation. There has been a shortage of doctors to cover night shifts, with all the risks that entails. Only two doctors remain on staff, forced to work seemingly endless shifts."

This isn't the only difficulty the chaplain highlighted; he also highlighted the lengthy hospital stays that are becoming commonplace, taking up beds that would be needed for those who truly need them.
