The investigating judge of the Cagliari court has reopened the case of a woman, resident in a town in Gallura, whose intimate images were sent to thousands of people, photos that were also allegedly seen in a bar in Olbia.

The judge, granting the request of the victim's lawyers, Angelo Merlini and Donatella Corronciu, rejected the request for dismissal presented by the prosecutors of the Cagliari District Attorney's Office (which has jurisdiction over the matter). Four people are under investigation, and some (unidentified) are also said to have asked for money to broadcast the pornographic images featuring recognizable protagonists. Between late 2022 and spring 2023, numerous people viewed the images depicting the woman during sexual intercourse.

The alleged crimes are varied and not limited to the very serious offense of revenge porn (up to six years in prison for distributing sexually explicit videos or photos).

The phone from which the files were allegedly taken had been given to a third party for professional reasons; it's believed it was repaired or the content was transferred to another device. The videos were apparently taken from a confidential folder. The investigating judge has ordered new investigations, including the acquisition of data that will be requested from Meta (Facebook).
