The trade unions Safor and Fesal-Cfva have proclaimed the state of agitation among the staff of the Forestry and Environmental Supervision Corps of Sardinia, also giving notice of strike "if concrete answers do not arrive".
A mobilization that comes in the midst of a firefighting campaign in which, the unions point out, "aircraft are significantly reduced in number compared to previous years".
A fact which – add the acronyms – «cannot help but inexorably aggravate the work of the staff involved in the firefighting campaign, who in the absence of this indispensable support will have to remodulate the operational methods and procedures at the time of extinguishing, which had to be appropriately concerted well in advance also with the workers' representatives, as requested several times in vain to the general management of the Cfva".
Added to this, the unions continue, is the "lack of certain quantification of the financial resources necessary to best carry out the 2024 firefighting campaign for the Forestry Corps , as expected for other similar forces such as the firefighters: the workers of the Corps Forestry, due to their commitment and the exceptional nature of a firefighting campaign that promises to be "hot" (see climate change and currently totally insufficient numbers of the air fleet) must have those certainties that they don't have today."
Finally, Safor and Fesal-Cfva ask for clarity on the figure of the extinguishing operations director, whose function would be given "without any legal and economic recognition and in the absence of adequate insurance coverage".
