During the firefighting operations in Ozieri, the Forestry Corps' director of firefighting operations received a report of a golden eagle that had been stuck in a field in the Mores area for three days.

Unable to intervene due to the ongoing fire, he asked the operations room of the COP (Provincial Operations Center) to send the forestry patrol from Thiesi, a neighboring territory, who carried out the recovery and delivered the specimen to the veterinarians at the regional center in Bonassai for treatment.

This is a young golden eagle of the same year, just fledged from the nest. It had no fractures to its limbs and appeared vital, although it was found to be underweight, having evidently not eaten for some time .

Obviously, as soon as it is treated, it will be released into its native territory, as per the protocol followed by the Cfva, the Forestry Corps that has always been committed to protecting flora and fauna, always active in the area even during firefighting campaigns.
