The city of Bosa can also be considered one of the island's longest-living centers. In fact, there are currently three people who have passed the 100-year threshold . The most recent ones to be celebrated have recently reached the century mark. Last October 15th, Antonio Ibba reached the prestigious milestone, a life as a breeder dedicated to work and family. Previously, on September 28th, Maria Carmina Schintu blew out her 100 candles, also celebrated with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mayor Alfonso Marras gave both of them a gift and delivered a plaque of good wishes on behalf of the municipal administration but also of all the fellow citizens.

The third centenarian is Pietrina Pinna , who turned 100 10 months ago, in December 2023. “The elderly are the thread that binds us to our history, to traditions, and that strengthens in all of us the sense and meaning of family - says Mayor Marras - with the community of Bosa that has a deep respect and immense affection for the elderly, an authentic example of life, often faced with many sacrifices and for this reason deserving of the utmost consideration.

Being present at their celebrations at the invitation of the families of Antonio Ibba and Maria Carmina Schintu was a source of great joy for me. Then expressing to them the affection of the entire population was a pleasant duty and a great honour”.
