In Ossi "The winter solstice and the birth of Christ"

An initiative presented by scholar Bartolomeo Porqueddu, with the collaboration of Tonino Sanna, who will help the writer uncover the secrets and sources of mythology narrated by the Greeks and Latins. A culture that merges and merges with the popular traditions of Sardinia, handed down to the present day.

In the veneration of the gods, Apollo, from the Sardinian A-Puddu, who represented the Sun, took first place .

Apollo - Puddu was depicted on the helmets of Sardinian warriors with a crested or plumed galley, representing the "Rooster." For this reason, the midnight mass sung on December 24th to celebrate the birth of Christ is called the "Missa de Puddu" (Mass of Apollo), and harks back to the Latin commemoration of the "Dies Natalis Solis Invicti" of the Winter Solstice.

The event will be attended by Ossi's mayor, Pasquale Lubinu, and the city's culture councilor, Maria Franca Campus.
