About 2 thousand people took part in the peace march against the war in Ukraine and to express solidarity with the people of the country at war. Students, professors, school directors and mayors of other municipalities of the Marghine paraded in a peaceful and silent way for the initiative promoted by the municipal administration and schools of all levels.

Hundreds of blue and yellow flags, billboards, along the snake that, passing through Piazza Nuova and Corso Umberto, reached the Town Hall. Only the choir of kindergarten and elementary school children broke the silence with the cry of "we don't want war, we want peace".

"A wonderful initiative to reflect on the theme of the war in Ukraine and to bring solidarity to the people of this country besieged by bombs - said Gemma Porcu, student of the Galileo Galilei high school - but also to condemn all the wars in the world. Let's say 'no' to this way of solving problems: war is something that should no longer exist. Our posters and flags have affirmed the right to freedom and peace. The Ukrainian people are suffering from an unjust war, like all wars. We as students wanted to participate in this moment of reflection and condemnation of the ongoing conflict and we asked loudly for peace to be brought back to the country ".

"We wanted to give life to a peaceful and affectionate demonstration towards those who today suffer under the bombings and deprivations - added the mayor of Macomer, Antonio Onorato Succu - In the streets of the city there were two thousand people who felt the urgency of condemn this war and reaffirm peace. I thank the school children, the teachers, the school administrators, the mayors of Marghine and all those who participated in this moment of solidarity and reflection. Let us remember that great destinies like those of a people are not they need little men. "
