Off to the new cruise season in Sardinian ports. And as happened last year, it was inaugurated by the docking of the AidaBlu , the gigantic ship from Barcelona which moored this morning at 7.30 at Molo Rinascita in Cagliari .

Approximately 2,230 passengers , mainly Germans, will be on board, who will be entertained on the island with guided tours of the city and excursions to the historical and cultural sites of southern Sardinia.

The AidaBlu is the first of 118 landings on the calendar in the port of the capital of the island , for a season that will end on December 24th.

The ship, together with the Stella and the new flagship of the group, the Cosma, will be in the Cagliaritan port with 17 calls, to which must be added the 33 of Tuscany, also belonging to the Costa group.

The next call , scheduled for March 28, will be that of the Azura of the British P&O group , a ship in the luxury segment which, in 2023, with the berths and overnights of the Le Ponant and Silversea groups, marks a gradual growth also in the south of the island.

Next month , AidaBlu will move to the port of Olbia for 4 consecutive calls (one a week) at the start of a season which, according to the latest updates, should ensure at least 50 ships for the White Island.

«Today's landing at the port of Cagliari, the only one in the month of February in the ports of the system, kicks off a season of realignment and, based on forecasts on the rebalancing of the ship filling factor, exceeding the numbers recorded in previous years to the crisis - explains Massimo Deiana , President of the AdSP of the Sardinian Sea - We are still in a phase of adjustment of the calendars anticipated a few weeks ago, with variations on the dates, some cancellations, but also some additions. Caselle that we will try to consolidate already in the second half of March on the occasion of the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, the first international trade fair of the year which will see us involved in the resumption of face-to-face meetings with cruise companies and all the players in the sector".
