In Balai the cult is repeated in honor of Santu Bainzeddu, patron saint of fields and farmers. It all culminated with the blessing of the horses on the splendid beach in front of the Gulf of Asinara.

In the small church of Balai Lontano, which according to tradition in the year 303 was the place of torture of the Turritani Protomartyrs, Monsignor Salvatore Masia and Don Giovanni Falconi celebrated mass according to a rite that has its roots in the peasant tradition.

They underlined the precious work and sacrifices of those who still work in the fields on which the protection of the Turritani Saints has been invoked. At the end of the ceremony, the costumed group of the Intragnas cultural and folkloristic association and the riders of the Gulf Endurance Team, in procession on horseback reached the Balai beach at the end of the procession for a ritual, the blessing of the riders and their horses, which has been renewed for years. A very evocative moment, despite the strong mistral wind which prevented the lateen sailing boats from being present in the body of water to participate in the moment of the blessing.
