The elderly in Sulcis will have a new facility for care and assistance. A new nursing home is coming to Perdaxius. Last September 1st, Alf Investment Srl, a Cagliari-based company specializing in the development of senior living facilities on the island and throughout Italy, obtained accreditation from the Region to build a new nursing home in Perdaxius, in the Sulcis region, a few kilometers from Carbonia .
The project envisions the construction of a 60-bed facility (47 of which are accredited) and a 30-bed integrated community for partially dependent seniors . It will provide a concrete solution to the bed shortage in both residential care homes and integrated communities, aiming to reduce the extremely long waiting lists.
The project (valued at approximately 9 million euros) aims to meet the healthcare needs of the area (covering all levels of social and health care for the elderly: from basic non-self-sufficiency to vegetative state) and generate new employment opportunities through the creation of at least 150 jobs among specialized personnel, social and health workers (OSS) and other professionals necessary for the management of the services . In addition to this direct impact, there would also be effects on the economic sector, with new opportunities for local businesses and services.
The Union of Sulcis Municipalities has expressed a favorable opinion regarding the compatibility and authorization for the future RSAs. This decision follows the positive opinion already expressed at a conference of services by the Region, through the Department of Health and the Sulcis Local Health Authority (ASL 7). The only thing currently pending is the green light from the Municipality to confirm certain technical aspects that are "fundamental to making the investment financially viable," the company states.
