Illness at the wheel, he dies on the 131 in Uras

Tragedy along State Road 131 at the crossroads for Uras.

An 84-year-old pensioner from Oristano fell ill and died in a lay-by.

According to what was ascertained by the Oristano traffic police, the man driving his Toyota Prius was returning to Oristano when he felt ill. He managed to pull over and stop in the lay-by, then lost consciousness.

Other motorists sounded the alarm, the 118 staff tried to revive him but there was nothing they could do for the pensioner.
