Under investigation eleven people of Bosnian origin residing in Olbia and Telti and four Italian owners of companies operating in the sector of treatment and recovery of metal waste in the Cagliari area.
During the investigations , an unauthorized storage site of metal waste and WEEE was identified in Olbia, managed by a family of Bosnian origin, from where large quantities of waste were collected every day and transported to the treatment plants in Southern Sardinia for the disposal.
The companies involved would have carried out the same collection operations at other illegal deposits of waste, including dangerous ones, such as spent lead batteries or refrigerating appliances.
