An illegal guest house   with 35 beds crammed into an apartment of just over 150 m2 : this is what the men of the State Police discovered in the center of Cagliari , where a man and a woman of Bengali origin , aged 40 and 37 respectively, were reported.

They will have to answer for the crime of aiding and abetting the illegal stay of foreign citizens and for failing to declare hospitality.

In the apartment, as found by the agents, a multitude of bunk beds , arranged in such a way as to fully exploit the spaces of the rooms and intended for numerous compatriots of the reported couple.

Inside the apartment, in addition to the owner couple with their family, 21 other citizens of Bangladeshi origin were identified : some of them had a regular residence permit, others were asylum seekers and four without any qualification to be able to stay in Italy.

According to what has been reconstructed, the guests of the apartment would have been asked for an amount ranging from 100 to 300 euros per month , depending on the services offered, on some occasions only the bed while on others also room and board.

The search of the property made it possible to find, in the couple's bedroom, a notebook and some papers containing the accounts of the payments made by the guests of the apartment.

Also seized were 3,000 euros in cash , believed to be the proceeds of the crime.
