Iglesias mourns Aurora and Riccardo: city mourning for the 17-year-olds who died on state road 130

The bodies of Aurora Marcia and Riccardo Lai , the 17-year-olds from Iglesias who died last night in a dramatic crash on the State Road 130 , at the entrance to the town, have already been taken to the Iglesias Orthopedic Trauma Centre , as ordered by the judicial authorities.

For reasons yet to be ascertained, the Yamaha Booster 50 scooter on which the two young people were travelling crashed into a Range Rover Evoque , driven by a 32-year-old man from Gonnesa.

The 118 emergency services intervened immediately, but they could do nothing to save the boys: the 17-year-olds died instantly due to the impact .

The driver of the Range Rover was unharmed, but remained in shock over what had happened, as were the other passengers in the car , who refused medical attention. The firefighters were also on site.

The Carabinieri of the Iglesias Station are proceeding with the investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident and ascertain any responsibilities. The vehicles involved have been seized to allow the necessary technical investigations.
