The Carabinieri of the Iglesias Station have executed an order that prohibits the approach and removal from the family home of a 27-year-old local man, unemployed, accused of mistreatment of his mother in the family. The young man was also applied an electronic bracelet.

The measure came following the complaint filed by the victim on February 5, when the woman, a 51-year-old housewife, went to the Carabinieri station in Iglesias to tell of years of harassment and violence suffered by her cohabiting son.

The 27-year-old reportedly beat her and threatened to kill her on multiple occasions. The abuse began in 2022, forcing the woman to abandon her home and take refuge in another city.

Following the complaint, the Carabinieri had started the procedure provided for by the Red Code, collecting further elements and proposing the application of a precautionary measure to the competent Judicial Authority.

On the basis of the evidence acquired, the Court then ordered the suspect to be removed from the family home and prohibited from approaching the places frequented by his mother, prescribing the use of an electronic bracelet to monitor compliance with the imposed measures.
