For wine the average drop is 29.3%, for beer 25.5% and for digestives it rises to 36.9%. These are some data from the survey carried out by Confcommercio Nuoro on a sample of 146 public establishments that responded to a short questionnaire distributed one month after the entry into force, last December 14, of the changes to the Highway Code.

According to the trade association, that legislative intervention has produced disruptive effects on the consumption of alcoholic beverages, therefore wine, beer, sparkling wines and digestives in public establishments, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, etc. According to Ivan Deriu, president of FIPE Confcommercio Nuoro Ogliastra, «there is particular concern regarding local products, especially wine, which are suffering a significant decline». One of the questions posed by the questionnaire revealed that the majority of businesses (46.4%) do not allow customers to take away a partially consumed bottle of wine. 32.1% of businesses allow and recommend it and 21.4% allow customers to take away the bottle only if the customer asks for it.

For Gian Luca Deriu, director of Confcommercio Nuoro Ogliastra «this requires better training of staff and flexibility in the management of wine bottles: it is necessary to allow and encourage the take-away of unconsumed bottles». So Confcommercio Nuoro Ogliastra has developed a take-away package of bottles called "NO CIUKKO BAG" that will be distributed to bars and restaurants. Drink but consciously.
