Iron, aluminum, manganese, and lead: these are the heavy metals found to be abnormal in the tap water sampled by Abbanoa in Piazza Indipendenza, Portoscuso, which led the municipality to issue an ordinance prohibiting its use for human consumption.

The contaminated sample, which also showed excessive turbidity, was taken on April 27th and the action was taken based on the indications of the Sulcis Local Health Authority.

Mayor Ignazio Atzori has banned drinking and drinking the water until further notice.
