Heat waves on Sardinia, it is alert at the weekend

The notice reminds us that temperatures will undergo a general and progressive increase in the western sector of Sardinia, mainly in the maximum values, resulting also very high. They can therefore exceed 37 ° C, locally 40 ° C. The areas most affected by the heat will be the central ones of the island and on Sunday especially the Sassarese area until reaching the Alghero area. The mistral should return from Monday.
IL VADEMECUM - The municipality of Cagliari, in relaunching the alert, recalls some behavior and prevention measures that can help reduce the harmful consequences of heat waves: "Do not go out during the hottest hours, from 12 to 18, especially the subjects at risk; at home, protect yourself from the heat of the sun with curtains or blinds; eat light meals and eat lots of fruit, drink properly, avoiding alcoholic beverages and caffeine; wear light, light-colored clothes and hats and avoid synthetic fibers; if at home there are sick people make sure they are not too covered ".
Among the subjects most at risk are the elderly and / or non self-sufficient or convalescent people, people who regularly take drugs, infants and young children, those who exercise or do intense work in the open air.
