Monday morning at 9.30 am Municipal administration and citizenship will occupy the Alivesi hospital in Ittiri. This is the result of the participatory assembly that took place this morning in front of the town hall.

"Since 21 October, the date of the City Council in which the regional councilor for Health Mario Nieddu also participated, we have no more news regarding the reopening of the Alivesi hospital, in particular of the Long-term care ward, which has been closed since this summer - explains the mayor of Ittiri Antonio Sau -. So this morning at the assembly we decided to adopt this strong initiative to occupy the health facility, starting from Monday morning. There was no other choice - he concludes - to protest against the silence of the Region, which had announced an imminent reopening. Never happened ".

Many local mayors, regional councilors, trade unions and citizens took part in this morning's meeting. Next Monday will not be the only initiative put in place.

"We intend to shortly organize a municipal council open at the Palazzo della Regione in Cagliari", continues the mayor of Ittiri Antonio Sau.

The long-term care ward of the Alivesi hospital, the flagship of the structure, had been closed "temporarily" last summer due to the transfer of medical staff to the Covid ward in Alghero.
