Health alert: more and more Sardinians are seeking treatment outside the region.
For the "journeys of hope" the bill exceeds 129 million euros

More and more Sardinians are receiving treatment outside the region: spending by the island's local health authorities has exceeded €129 million , compared to €27 million for non-resident patients treated in local hospitals. And the trend is worsening: the deficit has grown from €96 million to €101 million in one year.
According to the Gimbe report on healthcare mobility, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna are the regions with the highest positive balances.
